Love Golden Milk? Here it is in jars of creamy overnight oats! Made with probiotic kefir and anti-inflammatory turmeric, they'll be ready to grab from your fridge on a busy morning.
I made these little jars of breakfast bliss and stuffed them full of Mango Turmeric Overnight Oats. Made with probiotic kefir and anti-inflammatory turmeric, they're ready to grab from my fridge on a busy morning. They're like Golden Milk in a jar of overnight oats.
Sweet and creamy, these make-ahead breakfast jars of oatmeal have a hint of warm spices. Topped with fresh or frozen mango chunks, they make a breakfast a time to look forward to!
These Golden Milk overnight oats are softened with kefir (or yogurt), thickened with chia seeds, and sweetened with maple syrup. They're absolutely delicious!

❓What is kefir? Why should I include it in my diet?
Kefir is a probiotic drink made by culturing dairy milk or coconut milk. It's considered to be very beneficial for gut health and digestion. Some call it a more potent version of yogurt. Milk kefir is high in protein, calcium, phosphorus and B vitamins. It tastes a little like plain yogurt. Read more about it's health benefits.
If you don't choose to make it yourself, you can buy it in the dairy or yogurt section of your supermarket. With only 100 calories in a 6 ounce serving, it's a powerhouse of nutrition.
I often add it to a smoothie or smoothie bowl, but this week it's in these creamy turmeric oats. You can always substitute yogurt for the kefir in this recipe, if you prefer.
Ready to make your breakfast ahead of time? Here's a list of the ingredients you'll need.
🛒Ingredients
oats: rolled oats also known as old-fashioned oats
milk kefir: or Greek yogurt. Either one will work beautifully.
milk of your choice: any plant-based milk, or dairy milk.
chia seeds: these will help to thicken the mixture
maple syrup: for natural sweetness
ground spices: turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom
mango: fresh or frozen chunks
🔪Instructions
To make these nutritious Mango Turmeric Overnight Oats, put rolled oats in a jar, add probiotic-rich kefir or yogurt and your choice of milk. Add energy-boosting chia seeds, sprinkle in some ground spices, and stir in a little maple syrup. Top it all off with chopped fresh mango. Cover and let tomorrow's breakfast work its magic in the refrigerator overnight.
The chia seeds will soften, making them easy to digest. In the morning, you’ll have sweet, creamy oatmeal. You can either eat it cold, straight from the jar, or pour it into a bowl and heat it in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. Make a double batch and have breakfast ready for the week!
👍🏼Time Saving Tip!
Measure equal amounts of the four spices
- turmeric
- ginger
- cinnamon
- cardamon
and mix up a jar of the turmeric spice mix. Then use it to make these overnight oats in a hurry or to make this Tropical Turmeric Smoothie or Warm Turmeric Cinnamon Milk, also known as Golden Milk.
Storage Instructions
Cover the jars and store them in the fridge. These overnight oats will last for 4 to 5 days.
