🛒 Ingredients for peanut butter collagen bars
You'll find a complete list of ingredients with quantities in the recipe card below. But before we get to the full recipe, here are a few notes about the ingredients.
- peanut butter: Use creamy peanut butter with no additives, sugar or salt.
- honey: Adds natural sweetness and helps to bind the bars together.
- coconut oil: Adds moisture and makes it easy to combine the peanut butter and honey.
- ground flaxseed: For protein and a good source of fiber.
- vanilla extract: A perfect flavor enhancer.
- collagen peptides powder: I use Organika Enhanced Collagen powder in this recipe. It's a flavorless powder that I also add to smoothies and collagen shakes. You can substitute your favorite protein powder if you'd like.
- chocolate chips: I like dark chocolate chips for this recipe. Choose dairy-free or vegan chocolate chips if you prefer, or use chopped dark chocolate.
- flaky sea salt for sprinkling on the chocolate, optional.

Sprinkling the chocolate layer with flaky sea salt is optional, but tasty!
👍🏼 Helpful Tip
To make clean cuts and avoid cracking the chocolate layer, use a knife to lightly score the chocolate before transferring it to the fridge to chill for 45 - 60 minutes.
When you're ready to slice into bars, dip a sharp knife into a glass of hot water to warm it, then carefully slice using the scored lines you had made earlier.
⏰ Storage Instructions
To store: Store the protein bars in a covered container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
To freeze: Pack into an airtight container or a resealable freezer bag and store for a month or more.
